Aisha Aminu
Registered Nurse · Disability Advocate
Aminu Aisha is an indigene of Bida, Niger State, Nigeria, born on 28 November 2000. She is a registered nurse and a graduate of the Niger State School of Nursing, Bida.
During her second year of nursing school, Aisha became visually impaired. Despite this significant challenge, she demonstrated remarkable resilience, determination, and perseverance, successfully completing her nursing education. Her journey reflects her unwavering commitment to excellence and her passion for creating positive change.
Inspired by her lived experience, Aisha is a dedicated advocate for the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities, particularly women and girls. She is passionate about promoting the meaningful participation of women with disabilities in decision-making and governance, ensuring that their voices are represented in policies and leadership processes.
Through this fellowship, Aisha aims to strengthen inclusive governance, challenge discrimination and stigma against persons with disabilities, and contribute to building a society where everyone, regardless of disability, has equal opportunities to participate, lead, and thrive.
