Theme: End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls
The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is a global campaign that runs annually from 25 November (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to 10 December (Human Rights Day). It unites individuals, organizations, and governments around the world to demand an end to all forms of violence against women and girls.
The 2025 campaign’s theme — “End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls” — emphasizes the growing threat of online abuse and the need for safer digital spaces that empower, not endanger, women and girls.
As technology becomes more central to our daily lives, digital spaces have become both a tool for empowerment and a site of violence. Online harassment, image-based abuse, cyberstalking, and doxxing have become common experiences for women and girls. According to UN Women, nearly 1 in 3 women globally have experienced online violence, and 38% of Nigerian women report digital harassment.
Ending digital violence means promoting online accountability, protecting digital rights, and ensuring that women can speak, learn, and lead safely in the digital world.
